If your wheels are straight and your steering is at an angle just take off the steering and put it on again but straight - Pull off the Horn section and then use a wheel brace to unscrew the nut off and the steering will come off with a bit of a push...

Oh and dont drive whilst doing this :D

P.S. I am afetr a AE82 Leather Steering for my AE86 if any1 has one...

i wouldn't recommend doing this because unless you moved the steering wheel originaly (which no-one with any common sense will do!), the tracking needs re-setting (any kwick fit garage etc should do this).

if you just change the steering wheel position your tyres will wear out quickly and also ruin the cars handling.

it should only cost about £10-£20 to get your tracking checked and adjusted.

some good garages will have computer controlled laser alignment witch is more accurate.

the tracking normally gets thrown out by hitting kerbs, speed bumps or not managing to avoid pot-holes.

hope this is more helpful.

Got tracking done on my AE86 and the steering was still at an angle - guy at the garage took it off and put it on back straight asd it seems ok now.

Even when the car was driving the steering was at a slight angle before but still drove straight...

Yagga - as suggested get the tracking done FIRST - as mine may have been a special case

There's alot of garages out there that don't bother to line the steering wheel up properly before setting the tracking. When I had mine done last, it ended up round to the left a bit. If that makes sense. (12 o'clock was now 11 o'clock) It was a pain in the backside. I tried to take the steering wheel off the move it round a bit, but it was on too tight so I gave up and ignored it in the end.

my old AE82 (in that pic) had the same prob. i took it to get the tracking done, and it was slightly out, but they couldn't adjust it because every bolt that needed adjusting had rusted solid. they heated them till they were glowing red, but they didnt move, so it ended up staying that way
