Just spotted this on Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...4510368379&rd=1

Anybody know what the seller means by:

Due to new import laws that came in place April 2004 anyone who wants to import a MR2 Turbo 1996 onward have to pay upto £2000 for a report done! So later models will be come few and far between over the next few years!

Mine came in the country some 10 weeks ago and I know if the car is younger than 10 years old then they have to have a ESVA rather than just the SVA check a and this is more strick again but surely this will not cost £2K, is he talking :ffs: :censor: or is there another law for even younger cars??????

Basically.

Any Imports under 10 years old from the day eg. Any car registered after 7th DEC 1994 in Japan, would need an ESVA test done. Basically the car has to comply to regulations in the UK.

- Side Indicators have to be seen 5 degrees from rear wheel.

- Any after market Stereo's have to removed

- Steering wheels/exhaust/air filters have to be standard to meet emmissions.

- Locking wheel nuts have to comply with what wheels are on :wacko: I know!!!

Any imported vehicle that is under 5 years old, would need a Model Report. This means that the imported car has been tested like any normal vehicle has been tested...e.g. Crash Tests etc.

I have imported a could of cars myself, and it is stressful, especially when they fail you because the radious of the stereo switch is too big!!!!!!!!

:unsure::wacko::eek:
