Today was a very sad day for me as i was awoken with a big bang and when i looked out my window my corolla was half way down the road on the curb!! an old lady had driven her nissan micra into the rear quater which left the wheel sticking out and the pertol tank coming through the floor under the rear seats!! this is just after getting my new TTE front bumper and spoiler put on, new tyres all round, and a full service!! :crybaby: !! the car is deffinately a write off as the chasis is bent and twisted. oh yea my car was shuntted forward into my next door neigbors car so the TTE bumper was <I thought I could get past the swearing filter - what a sad muppet I am eh?>ed!!!!!

i'm going to cry now!! :crybaby:

Hey Ad I thought you was selling your car (P.S got a mesh grill but thanks once again for your offer)!

ChrisG6: agree with everyone else, that is a shame (looked an ace AE111). What speed was she doing?

have no idea what speed she was doing but the witness said that she managed to spin round in the air, so i'm guesing not 30mph. speeding and grannys is not a good combo!!

Sorry to hear that she's gone.

Are the skirts, spoiler and grille ok? If so I'm interested in buying them. Maybe the gear gaitor too.

hey guys

cheers for all the replies, nice to know she was appriciated.

i have another problem arising, the insurance company will only give the book price but said if i can prove that it was worth more then they would pay out more. to do this i need some adverts but there are none for sale on autotrader. if any one see's any or knows anyone selling one could they let me know as i need the ad as proof.

cheers

ps. anything above £3500.

I'm glad someone else asked you those questions, cos I feel guilty trying to benefit from someone elses misfortune, (and that not a dig at anyone else who has asked you).

I guess it's time for a change, it's a shame that it was decided for you.

Good luck.

Rich K.

P.S. have you tried Fish4? Does jamjar sell used car's? not too sure.

Im in the insurance game mate, your gonna find things hard going if you dont want the book price. Best way is to get an independant engineer to value the car. try" vehicle-inspections.co.uk" Or at least tell your insurer that what you want to do and if the inspecter says its worth more than they want to pay that they will have to pay for the inspecters fee. They may want to just cut their loss and pay you more.

Or cut your loss and take what they offer, buy your car back at the salvage value. Then strip every little bit of it. And I mean everything. You will be shocked what you can flog. Engine, gear box (6 speed you see), alloys, Glass, ECU, You can sell through eBay, local papers, car mags,

Best of luck mate

You could sell the complete rear disk setup to me - hubs, hoses, cables disks, pads and calipers.

Good luck with the insurers.

This is tru Phil! Do feel really bad asking about things like this!

Chris, U may even get more money buy accepting the offer and buying it back and selling EVERYTHING. This way U can get all the insurance money and prob over a grand in bits. Thats gotta B near wot U spent on it?

Corolla parts are so hard 2 find U should B able to strip it!

Whatever happens, good luck m8!

Yeah it is bad offering to strip the car but as Ad says it's so hard to find decent Corolla parts/mods, especially 2nd hand.
