Bonnet Lift Struts...

Hello again,

After having the bonnet slam shut on my head while detailing the RS's engine, I deeply regret there is not a set of struts holding it up. I've fitted them to other cars in the past, but was wondering if anyone here had experience and could share some specs... open/closed length of the struts, PSI resistance, etc...

Tein makes them for the Toyota bB, which is based on the same chassis as the Yaris, but the rad support and length of the fenders seems different... not sure they would cross over.

Plus they're mad expensive.. :ffs: ..anything less fancy would work well.

Well even if it doesn't push it up, just holding is fine. The prop rod isn't working for me, the back of my head disagrees with it. :censor:

So. Anyone fit a pair of those to their Yaris?

A 306 you say... yep that has it... it's a nice car the 306... well, this one is...!

It's my friends, who has many a mod on it!

Including:

Full custom ICE install with front focal Speakers, sub, amp, capacitor

Viper Induction Kit with custom Air intake

Magnex 4" round Catback with Devil de-cat

17" replica GTi-6 cyclones (VERY rare)

FK Konigsport Coilover Kit (fully adjustable - at 60mm at mo)

And a few others!!

The noise this thing makes is truly awesome! And it flames from the exhuast! Does 0-60mph in 6.2secs, and he's chipping it soon!

The reason it's here is that i said i'd get some opinions on it for him... don't let me down people!! :D

What engine does it have?

I do quite like em... but its Pug and they have a tendancy to fall apart. My mate has a 306, one day his side bumper protector things fell off while he was driving. He gets his key stuck in the ignition and cant start the damn thing, and the list goes on.

Yup, at the end of the day it's still a Peugeot. Something with pearls and swines comes to mind. :D

The engine in that there GTi-6 is a 2.0l, 6-speed, 16 valve. It develops 167bhp and 145lb/ft of torque as standard. The one i posted is probably closer to 185bhp and 155lb/ft torque with it's mods, but it has yet to be put on a rolling road. It also needs a re-map.

This car has also had nothing go wrong with it and it is a very rare car colour wise. Only 40 in that colour (Astor Grey) in the whole country... and only four of which are modified (that's known of!) So be greatfull... ur looking at a very fast, very rare machine!

P.S. It's still french though!!!! :D :D  :D hehehehe!! (If my friend reads this... sorry! )

Why not just go down to the scrappy and get some out the rear of hatchbacks.

Loads of cars have them under the bonnet as well..most volvo's...sabbs / VW's.

Hey,

Don't mean this to cause offence or sound rude but have you never seen a turbo'd car running anti-lag? now tht is a site worth seeing! my dad co-hosted a rally at rockingham bout a week ago! 2 stages in the dark was a site definitely worth seeing!
