Whats My Engine? 3s-fe Or Ge?!?!

on a j plate it should be the 3s-ge but its very easy to tell

On the timing belt cover, it should say 3s-ge or fe also if its a ge,

your engine number will start with 3sg. :thumbsup:

AFAIK, the 3S-FE was only found in the Coupe - the original MKII MR2 with no spoiler (G/H plates).

The Jap "G" had the FE I believe .. the "G-Ltd" should be a GE engine ..

It'll say on the cam belt cover ..

I think the first batchs of UK FE's had no kit and when they got the last batch they slapped all the kit on them to flog them .. before di-continuing them.

Yep it's true all G-Limited's have the 3SGE engine whilst the G's have the 120bhp 3SFE engine. The 3SGE is theoretically non-interference but damage could still occur if the cambelt goes.

Cheers for the replys lads, its a little more reassuring that ive an interferrancce lump as im nearly at the cambelt changing 65K mark. :thumbsup:
