Just had a look at some of the photos.Typical that the Novas have their wipers parked smack bang in the middle of the screen.

Just a thought. But you should ask them if a single wiper moves across the screen quioker. I`ve driven a couple of cars with single wipers and they seem to move a hell of a lot faster than normal two wiper jobbies.

Most of the cars look 'wack' with them on.......Can't really see how a single wiper would enhance a Celica

Agreed... But. Do the converted ones go faster after they`ve been converted? Thats what i mean. No good having a single wiper if it aint up to scratch.

Generally speaking they reduce the length of the drive crank on the wiper spindle. This gives the bigger angle of sweep needed (you need about 170 degrees of sweep for a single wiper). Because most of these systems use the original motor which runs at its usual speed, the wiper runs faster due to the effective increased gearing gained by shortening the crank.

Age certainly helps (till you go senile):lol: but I did most of the wiper mechanism design for the Vanquish too so I have a little knowledge of wiper mechanisms.

eeew! I just looked at the pictures - they are horrible! Please do not spoil the Celica's good looks with one of those! :crybaby:

They seem to be bad fitting conversion kits aswell. The astra's, nova's and Escorts would really p :censor: s me off having the wiper across the window!

I've just looked over the pictures and I have to say they look pretty damn poor :(

I'd be a little concerned about wind noise with the wiper stuck half way up the windscreen like that. Also, if the original motor is being used I'd be thinking about how it will last with the higher gearing. It may be under more stress than in standard configuration.

I guess it's a case of each to thier own but this wouldn't be a mod I would consider.
