6 Speed Gearbox In A 2'?

Recommended Posts

Hi, How are you all doing?

Just a few questions really;

1. Has anyone put a 6 speed gearbox in a MK2 MR2? Would this be possible and would it be worthwhile? any info appreciated.

2. Has anyone twin turbo'd a MK2, Like a Supra? Would this also be possible and worth while doing?

Thanks for any help you can give. Just trying to do something a bit different really.

Cheers,

p.s Is there a carbon fibre TRD spoiler available? or something similar?

Michael.

well you could go the whole hog and have a custom made Getrag or Quaife 6 speed made, but youll be talking a pretty penny on that one :blink:

both the current celica and mr2 are 6 speed manual......

HOWEVER the boxs are designed for the 1ZZ-FE and the Celica T-Sport 2ZZ-GE. Both of these engines have %$( all torque so even if you can get the box to mate to the engine they'll probably disintegrate within a short amount of time!

theres a discussion on the us mr2 board about that right now, lemme find the link

Thats one critisism of my Mr2.... your in 5th and you just feel like you need another gear!!! Would quieten the car down a treat on he motorway too!!!

I can see no point in having a twin turbo Mr2!!! no point ona four pot engine! especially with an engine bay as tight and toasty as an mr2!
