How Much Is My Ae86 Worth?

Recommended Posts

I have got myself a AE86 2 weeks ago. its a 1986 car, good condition with aftermarket suspension, intake, exhaust, alloy.

bought it for £5500, wondering how much is these cars worth these days.

If i sell it out, will i be able to make money on it?

To be honest I think you've paid too much for your car so I don't think you would be making any money on that. Cars seem to be peaking at around £4k - £5k?

Just check eBay on the moment, there's a very nice example of one and that is

just reaching £2800, I would see that go for around £4800

There are importers selling them for under 4k, they seem nice examples as well,

what is your spec as that would make a difference? Fully ballsed out with cage and stripped interior? or mildly tuned with all seats? This will make a difference

I'm not saying that you wont get more than what you paid for I'm just saying that it's very unlikely that you will........... saying that I'm no expert

My AE86 is a mildly tuned one, its got TRD Cam, Cam shaft, ECU, Carbon bonnet, body kit, bucket seat.....loads of extra on it. And the body was in a very good condition.

Have seen some AE86 in Japan still selling it for £8000 or more!!!

To be honest its worth what some1 is willing to pay... Now is probably not the best time to sell what with xmas and the new year..

Post a pic of it - am always keen to see pics of AE86's :D

Currently selling my AE86 on a C plate in Black UK Car in i'd say good condition for it s age and mileage (137k) with 11 months MOT - Totally standard - Want £3500ish for it .

It took me 6 years to find one over here, got close many times. I got so desperate to find one I made a contact with a bloke who worked in the ship yards. He said he could find me one from Japan quite cheap but it would cost me loads to ship it. So I carried on looking. I have a mate who lives up the road from me and his brother has got one, a road rally prepared one, and he'd take 4-5k. I didn't have that kind of dollar, so I asked him to keep an eye out for me. He then told me of one about 3 miles from my house. I phoned the guy up and he wanted £1500 for it with a ticket.....Bought it straight away and she was mint. But things went a bit pear shaped, and it started to rust. Didn't get it started for year until an hour ago with a fresh fuel pump.

If I was to sell it, I would be asking about 5k. That's how much they seem to be taking over here.

You wont get close to 5K with a rusty ae86, yes they are making big money but those are the imports that are absolutely mint, I bought my import levin (like a new car) here in the UK for less than 4K. The main thing about buying an ae86 is the condition of the Shell, rust = serious drop in price, id stick it on eBay if I were you, put a good reserve price on it and let her off and buy an import with the money. I went to see a uk car the other week and laughed in the guys face when he said 4k, the car looked well but it was the usual he knew nothing about them except the price tag and oh ya the a$$ was falling out of the car, if there is rust on the inner wheel houses you are in trouble. The pockets (under the back bumper) are the best place to look to see the amount of rot a car has, i wouldnt mind a bit of pocket rot but if they are completely gone then there is likely to be bigger problems. Take out the back seats for a better look
