I was just reading through the US MR2 Owners club, and found this.

That happened to me on the motorway! One of the plugs in my old Bluebird (yeah I know ) worked it's way out, scared the s£!$ out of me. I heard a tick-tick-tick for a few minutes then a loud bang as the plug popped out! Thought something serious had gone wrong, called the AA and was highly embarassed when shown what had happened! Unfortunately the AA guy managed to cross the threads on the plug and detatch the vacuum return line on the carb so the car kept on stalling every time I stopped :ffs: !
