1998 Avalon Stall

1998 Avalon, about 80K miles, has started to exhibit a random issue of stalling immediately after placing the vehicle in gear. Car can be either cold after first start, or after having driven for an hour. Seems not to make any difference, nor whether you are placing the car into either reverse or Drive.

I am suspecting a ECM. But, I am also wondering if something else might be the problem. Any suggestions before I take this into the Toyota shop for diagno$tic$?

OK...found a fix for this and it was simply to clean out the throttle body system. Since the car is not used for long trips, it does not get a good cleaning out. So, this did the trick, and it runs much better now.....
