I have a 1997 Paseo with alloy wheels. There is a small disc in the centre of the wheel which covers the wheel nuts. This disc is held in place with a bolt that has a head with 2 small holes in it. Does anyone know where I can get the special tool that fits into the holes and thus undo the bolt? My local Toyota dealer has been unable to help up to now. I have only once had to change a wheel and I frigged it by using 2 nails and pliers - but the nails bent in the process! Many thanks for any help - please e-mail me. Ken.

erm actually, just look into the holes where the nuts are, and ull see there's a small rectangular slit in one of them for the disc, you just pry it out with the crowbar in the boot

Hi riko666, thanks for the prompt response but I think you've misunderstood my problem.

When you come to remove an alloy wheel on the Paseo, you first have to remove a small alloy cover (about 3 inches in diameter) from the centre of the wheel. Removal of this cover exposes the the 4 wheel nuts. This cover is held in place by a recessed bolt that has the 2 holes or small indentations in its head. There is a special tool that fits these small holes so that the bolt can be unscrewed. My Toyota dealer has a nice picture of the wheel disc setup on his microfische machine but can't help me with the tool.

Hope this makes it a bit clearer.

Cheers.

I know the too, you mean, antman.

Have you checked in and around your boot. When I bought my Paseo, the prev owner specifically showed me that item, so I've always known where it was (no use to you as it is in my glovebox)

Otherwise try a toyota dealer, it's probably not unique to the paseo

Many thanks for all the interest shown - CozmoNz, it is made of alloy and the bolt with the two holes in its head is also made of alloy. When this long holiday is over I'm going to try the Toyota dealer again and if all else fails will get some circlip pliers.

Happy New Year!
