Arrrgh! Headunit Not Working!

Hi guys,

I followed the various guide on installing my sony cdx3300 in my Yaris, but there's a slight problem!

I believe it's all wired up correctly.

The cd player will switch on, lights up etc, and you can tune in a radio station - but the station's noise does not come out the Speakers.

You can put in a cd and chose a track etc etc - and i believe it to be playing the relevent track, except the noise does not come out!

What's interesting (and would suggest this isn't something blatantly obvious like the Speakers not being plugged in) is that when you switch the volume up and down, you get your good old sony beeps through the Speakers. Same beep occurs when you press next track.

I've pressed the att button so the attenuator is OFF. (So i don't believe the sound is being muted by this mechanism).

I've turned up the volume - so it isn't this restricting the noise coming out.

What i have noticed is that when the cd player unit is on, there's a faint buzzing noise coming out of the speakers. This is not present when you switch it off, but also it does not change in volume when you turn the cd player volume up.

I'm really not sure what the problem is here - do you think there is an electrical fault with the headunit, or my wiring (it goes through the sony wire, into the toyota iso lead, into the car's wires), or i simply haven't configured the software right??

Thanks

Neil

strange. I can only suggest you disconnect everything, make sure the keys are out of ignition when you do so! and then go through it again making sure everythings securely attached. May be hassle, but its worth a try!
