Hi

Am thinking of buying my daughter a 86 Corolla hatch it has the A4 motor and runs quite well. Only fault is it needs clutch adjustment, i had a look at it but could not see how to do it :ffs: Is it possiable?

Thanks in advance and Happy New Year

I think the clutches in those Corollas are Hydrolic and can not be adjusted. The biting point is set and that's it.

The clutch in my girlfriends MR2 was biting very high when we first went to look at it. She got the car professionally inspected before purchase and they said the car would definately need a new clutch. She bought the car anyway. 3 years later the car still has the same clutch and it still hasn't started slipping. We found out that it was hydrolic and could not be adjusted and was probably not on the way out.

The clutch was new in my corolla before I bought it and the biting point is also very high. Again - Hydrolic clutch that can not be adjusted.

Drive the car and test for slipping clutch - if it's not slipping, it should be fine

Yep slipping quite bad, may have to get a quote on a new one and knock that off the price.

Thanks for your help
