Hi,

As the above reads will a set of 17'' Lexus IS200 alloys fit my 95 2?

Lexus Alloys:

PCD 5x 114

OFFSET 38 to 45

BORE 60.1

MR2 alloys

PCD 5X 114

OFFSET 35 to 45

BORE 60.1

Does the OffSet make that much difference?

Thanx all

Dave

They will fit, and the offset listed for the two is not 38 to 45, its 38 - 45, 38 front and 45 rear apparently. The offset will change according to the width of rim, i.e. a 1/2" wider rim needs to have 1/4" greater offset so it moves out 1/2 the difference in rim width. The IS200 rims are a bit narrow though.

We've had this topic up before a couple of times. The IS200 wheels will fit, but because of the offset on the rears, the rear wheels will REALY sit in. You would need to get a paor of wheel spacers for the rears to push the wheels out.

Ah I see now, I did not realise that they refered to the front and the rear's.

But I am a little confused are the sizes I mention correct?? as you say that the 2 is a 38 - 45 rather than the 35 - 45?????

To be honest mate, your best leaving spacers well alone. The hidden effect of fitting them is you push the wheel further away from the hub and this puts extra strain on the hub bearings and they will wear out faster. Your far better to fit wheels of the correct offset/size to take the strain off the bearings.

Hi

Yeh recon your right about this, quick question when the Offset states:

35 - 45

Does this mean that any alloys in that range are okay so for instance if I got some that where say 5X114 ET 38 would these be okay as thats what Rochford tyres are listing as OK for the 2?

Rochford

Cheers Dave

I'd have thought so myself but I am by no means a toyota expert. I do know however from my Rover experience that the 200 series off set is 35 -38 and most alloy wheel companies will sell you a 40 off set and they fit perfect. ..... don't suppose that helps much tbh
