PLEASE PLEASE i beg of you dont remove the file, if its possible could someone host it? sorry their is basically no image but the noise is worse behind the rear right wheel , the car is currently stationary.

Ive had all belts changed

new alternator + alternator belt tightened

new water pump

This noise will last for ages, but when ive driven around for an hr

or more come back the noise is gone, yet if say i drove for about 20mins

the noise will be loud.

Its this horrible chhunk whirlying sound

sounds defo a pulley wheel - take your alt belt off and run the car then see if it goes away , its a matter of illimination with sounds like that , it may well be the water pump too , but it sounds more like a pulley wheel to me.maybe the alt belt is too tight ???? saying that the frequency and timing of the noise may well point to the water pump as a alternator would be a constant wineing sound with no let up in my opinion, but its a pandoras box for now.

Water pump has already been changed :(

It doe's sound like a pulley? Have you looked to see it any have got a crack in them.

so you going under the knife for the delappadated disc are you ??

Nope they said the disc isnt much to worry about as its not that bad

because some days its ok and others its really bad, they are going for

the tense(?) machine fo the muscles... and then i have to do special

back manipulation. They say it will end up much better as my back

at this time is used to going into spasm when under pressure.

What annoys me is the different points of view

I have two hospital trips this month

1. To have an acid test for my stomach possible hiitus hernia which

is easily curable

2. Back treatment which isnt so easily curable

2004 was a TERRIBLE year for pain

Posted
good luck mate you have my thoughts on that score.

buy a tens machine and use it when you're in pain .    http://www.bodyclock.co.uk/acatalog/tensmachines.html

ahh tens i thought it was tense machine :!Removed!:

I think i might be getting one of those for free just to help me get back on my errr

back

That’s a weird noise, never heard anything like it before. The noise happens at a relatively low frequency, I’d say too low to be the oil pump, water pump or an idler gear (these are small and would probably make the noise at a higher frequency).

I’d guess the problem is around the cam shaft area because the cam shaft only goes round at half the speed of the crank shaft. Maybe it’s a knackered a cam shaft bearing????

was just gonna say is it possibly an idle gear thats shot  ?

SO many ifs and maybe's , i cant afford to take the car into the garage to have them

check everything... they even thought it was the water pump at first cost me £200... did that fix it? NO

It might help if you could get the timing belt cover off to localise the noise a bit better.

Jims car does on start up but it goes away after a few minutes.

Its defo coming from the timing belt area, so most likely will be a pully wheel...Imo.

Posted

Mine doesnt go away after a few mins , it goes away after an hr's worth of driving

oh and what i have noticed if i put my foot to the accelerator while the car is standstill i can hear the sound speed up.

Posted

Its defo the pully wheel by the sound of it mate.. especially if it speeds up with the engine speed..
