Cold Start Problem

Ello all, i'm fairly new here (dont post that much) but i'm having some trouble with my 1988 1.3 corolla. Its an early one so has the venturi carb and i've been reading in the Haynes manual that on cold starts it makes the fuel mixture richer, but mines making it waaay to rich and making it run lumpy as hell. Can any1 sugest a cure for it?

get a carb from a later model , venturi carbs were the worst ever made , absolute garbage mate.

From what i can tell, the earliest 1.3's that used the venturi carbs were a non adjustable venturi carb, but the later 1.3's had adjustable venturi carbs rite?

I want to sell the car basically but want to sort this !Removed! problem out 1st.
