Corolla Juddering / Jerking

Hi folks, am the happy owner of an 04 Corolla T2 1.4 - apart from wishing for a little more power I've a problem I'm curious whether anyone else has come across (before you ask I have done a search of this forum).

When maintaining speed - say 20/ 30 or 60mph the car has a slight judder/jerking motion - noticeable. Not so bad your doing some strange head jerking motion in the car but you can feel it. Doesn't matter what gear I am in. I've tried various fuels - from the normal unleaded to the expensive "cleaner" stuff and no difference.

Any ideas? Anyone come across this before?

if its through steering wheel it could be wheel balancing or tracking

It sounds like a possible breathing problem (Air/fuel mixture). Seeing as it's an 04 model it should still have warranty. You don't want to void the rest of your warranty by fiddling - take it back to MrT for them to sort

Thanks guys, was going to take back but didn't want them to tell me to get lost, saying it was my driving style unless knew what the potential cause could be.

I have a 3 month old Japan-built 1.6 manual, which has similar symptoms, but it is barely noticeable. Certainly not sufficient for me to want some grubby mechanic messing around under the bonnet and probably making matters worse!! :) :)

Think I'll leave well alone unless the fault(?) becomes more obvious and easily detectable/correctable.
