totally depends where/how you import it.

Mines imported and it's 100% UK spec, got the spoiler aircon.....full works...the ONLY difference is I have no TS Badge on the rear.

As`said though do a search..it's been discussed before.

One word of warning....sure it's nearly 2-3K cheaper to import...but Toyota Dealers will hate you!..sure they will do any warranty work etc...but they won't do it smiling...and they will scribble all over your invoices that it's an import!!

Also if you try and trade in with toyota..they will knock that 2-3 k off..as they know you saved there too.... thieving :censor: they are.

Few peeps have imports on here...some have slight differences...as said don't all come with the rear spoiler. but 2-3 k off a 12 k car...well worth the little big of agro you get.

My view...it's a Toyota...they don't make them in the UK...ie they are all imported...just depends on who imported it...toyota dealers...or someone else!

Yes engine spec is the same.

If they are made in Japan then surly they are all imports?!

I think the ones bound for Blighty have rear spoiler sunroof and badges................. oh and right hand drive!

Euro spec T-Sports come without the TTE rear spoiler and without the T-Sport rear Badge, however some dealers here specialising in "UK-imports" try to spec their cars to match the UK equivalent.

Engine specs are the same throughout the range.

As for dealers disliking imports, I was wondering how you'd fare at a dealership (for parts or service work, etc ...) if you were driving a LHD Yaris on a non-UK plate?

Toyota Warranty servicing/....or any kind of work is world wide.

Ie if I needed warranty work abroad...then it would be done...as long as I had all the necessary paper work...if you have an import...make sure you get a copy of the Certificate of Conformity. Any Dealer carrying out work will request it.

I had it out with my local dealer regarding the import thing..as said...every pigging Yaris is an Import..it's not as if it's a car that isn't usually imported to the UK...this is where you start having problems with insurance etc.

But aye...Ireland is a good place to get UK spec cars at imported prices.

My wifes 1.0l was imported...from Ireland and was about 1k cheaper than "standard" price at the time. So..hmmm car came from France..in this case...went to Ireland...then shipped over to the UK..and it was still cheaper!

I belive mine was imported from Belgium...I didn't do it myself but from a local car firm who does it for you..and thus undercuts all the dealers in the area...hence Toyota hate him and hate the car owner for not buying it from them directly.

Dealers have always done a good job...it's just a pain in the neck to get them to do it sometimes....and you have to go armed with all the paperwork including your car registration....and that's EVERY time..I'm sure they are just being plain awkward.

I understand they couldn't possibly get away with refusing warranty work. I was more wondering if they would try to refuse to get you parts and so, claiming things like "it's LHD, or not UK registered, etc ...".

I think I'd keep the registration and insurance in Belgium, it's cheap, covers the whole of Europe and some other countries, no designated driver stuff and all that. I need a word with someone who's in the know about this first however.

Cheers, Yves.
