Fault On Dashboard

Hi guys

I have a celica st202 import M reg year95. One of my sensor light on the dashboard always stays on when driving, it's on the left side next to the revs meter and the logo is shaped like a car with 6 little lines on the back. I don't have a owners handbook and i really want to know what that means when it on. could it be the abs sensor fault? How can i fix it?

Thank you

I would have thought that the ABS warning light would be more obvious, so as maleborn says it's probably the light out warning. Having said that my brake light was out and I didn't get a warning light... Maybe it's just on higher models??

If I was to ask anyone I would ask Maleborn as he has loads of manuals! :D

I have checked every single lights at the rear and they are all working fine. could the logo mean something else? when i start the engine, the sensor light will not come on until i apply the brake.

ok here it is in black and white

BROKEN WIRE WARNING LIGHT

the broken wire warning light will display when the ignition is turned to the ON position and turn off once the engine has started.

while the engine is running the warning light will display if there is a blown tail or brake light bulb.

a tail light bulb will be blown if the warning light displays when the lights are turned on.

a brake light bulb will be blown if the warning light displays when the brake pedal is pressed .

sotal the uk models dont have this light its only on imports matey.plus the abs light is on the other side of the clocks close to the fuel gauge.

Just a thought. I had this problem on a volvo once. The bulb warning light was showing a bulb out but they were all working ok. I changed all the bulbs and hey presto problem solved. So it could be that a bulb is making a poor-ish contact and the little brain that works the warning light is thinking `ah-ha. I`ll confuse them by showing a fault`

Clean the contacts on the bulbs and bulb holders or change the bulbs, and see if that helps. :D

Well that explains that then! :) It seems a good idea though (when it works :D )
