i just tried to fit my headunit into my car all was going well. i tested it then screwed the dash all in place agin and it just wouldnt work. took the dash off one more time tested it but it kept going on and off like there was a dodgy connection. tried all wires they seemed fine. at this point i managed to get the headunit to stay on constantly so screwed the dash back on. now ehn i switch on the power to the car the hedunit doesnt work, neither does my old radio come on at all and the cig lighter socket doesn work either.... any suggestions !!?? im screwed

no head unit was working completely fine but as soon as i screwed the rest of the dash on or pushed the headunit all the way into the dash to screw in the bottom part of the dash it would just turn off. and not turn back on

have you checked there aint no wirin chafed also try unscrewing the screw out of the side of the unit i did a yaris the other day with a sony in and when i put the securing screws through the side it was cutting the amp for some reason and wouldn't work try that it could be touching the ip curcuit in the stereo and shortin it out. it was the back right screw on the sony

i dunno i used really short screws something like 8mm eactly which came with the headunit.

i still have no idea what it could be but my fiorst thing would be to change the fuse (if it has blown) but working out why the headunit randomly looses all power when u push it into the dashboard is another story

pushed out the top? yeh a few were hard 2 fit in

check to make sure you didn't bend one of the pins, it can easily be done without realising it.
