lo folks, i tried searching for my problem, but couldnt find it. so hope its ok posting here!

my father has a toyota carina E se 97' hatchback, and somtimes one of his headlights doesnt turn on. a gentle whack brings it back, but not all the time. or if you replace the bulb it works for a while. the bulbs dont blow so im thinking its a loose connection somewhere or bad earth, but dont have a clue where....

i was just wondering if this was a common problem on the carina?

cheers!!

We had a similar problem with the rear lights on our exec. Luckily it only took some fiddling with the bulb connections and it was fine. Its not a common problem as far as Im aware, cant think of anyone on the owners club whose had that problem.

You can get replacement headlight units on eBay for a little over a tenner by the way if you decide to replace the unit :)

you could try joining the earth wire from the working one to the not so working one with a length of wire. ;)
