How much has it cost people here to get their downpipe fitted?? what sort of price and time wise am i looking at?

Also would the same garage be able to fit a FCD? or would a specialist have to do that

you can do fcd yourself, its just cutting 1 wire and conencting the ends up to the fcd.

dunno bout downpipe though sorry

I used to have a Saxo VTR.....thankfully someone took it away from me to show me the error of my ways and my insurance company gave me the cash for....saints are'nt they,

...anyway I dont know about Mr2's, but I had a de-cat on the saxo and it was wicked, slightly deeper on idle, but when you hit about 3500-4000 revs it growled like mad, i loved it, get it done

You should be looking at about 15 more horses from the de cat and

big difference in how quickly the turbo spools up.... very nice spool up sound too B)

Just a thought how many ports are needed on my specialist made downpipe? is it one or two on standard mr2 turbos?

They probably know this already, its just niggling me atm

Blood...

Don't forget, you'll need an FCD fitted, as the turbo will spool up a shed load quicker and cause the fuel to cut.

Once it's done tho' it makes a load of difference, and as Rico mentioned, you should see a good 12-15 hp increase

Ive got an fcd , but havent fitted it yet they wanted £40 to fit, i could do it myself... but im aspergers and aspergers people make MANY mistakes

edit : ive spoken to the specialists and they say they do not see a problem with having no fuel cut defenders fitted when doing the downpipe , as they have done mr2 turbos , skylines and scoobies before without fuel cut defends and had no problem. IF, and he stress's its a big if, that it does fuel cut they will fit the fuel cut defender there and then for me but they recommend if all goes well just waiting till i get a boost controller then get it fitted.

Ive seen alot of problems with WRX's that have had there downpipes done and theyve had to have there wastegate ported because of boost creep.

Does this affect Mr2 turbos? will a fuel cut defender cure anything like this ?
