well finally got it and got it fitted. Safe and Sound (queensferry) fitted it for me and did a very good job indeed. They were very quick and extremely helpful!

anyway, here is the unit, its a Pioneer Avic X1

i decided not to fit it myself due to quite a few wires which needed to be connected. and a hideaway unit which needs to be positions carefully. the worst cable was the speed pulse cable, which aparently was the white with red cable on the 18 pin connection point behind instrument panel, incase anyone needs to know! let me know what you all think!

not had much time to play around with it yet as i've not been too well, but tried a few dvd's and the sat nav feature is brilliant. i especially love the drivers 3d view mode in sat nav showing you road positions in 3d in real time! :D

I've been wanting one of them for a while now.

You can get it mail order now for £1280 (check kelkoo etc), although some place in Leeds will do it fitted for around the £1500 mark.

i got it from a mail order company caraudio security.com i think it was. cost £1300 and £100 to get it all fitted. It came 3 days after i'd bought it, and that was including a bank holiday!! really is worth every penny!! ive managed to get a program to convert my div x movies into normal dvd's too which is great!

theres plenty of other gadgets available for it as well. including a tv tuner, reversing camera (way cool) digital radio box and more! im hopin to get the slim ps2 for mine sometime soon!

few downsides that ive come accross so far tho, no case for the removable front!!! and it doesnt play normal dvd mp3 cd's

but for the money im really happy with it, i saw the same thing in Halfords for £2200!! but hey that did have free fitting lol

Oh as for titanic, how can you not enjoy a bit of katewinseltt in your car! :P sound effects as the ship sinks tho is awesome, lots of bass :D

I believe thats Unicar that sells it. Very good shop that is, sometimes pricey to fit stuff tho... thats why iv turned to DIY!

They will get you anything that you want, and the staff know what they're on about... ask for Richard if anybody rings them... top bloke.
