:help: Does anybody know how easy it is to fit the CD changer unit, should I let the dealer do it ? or can I do it myself

I had the dealer fit mine when I bought my XT4. Glad a I cos it failed within 4 months. The dealer changed it no questions asked :D

Having said that, I don't think they are too difficult to fit but the dealer told me that the passenger seat has to be removed to fit/remove a changer....

The Toyota CD changer is a complete rip off, and it will not play MP3. :arrgg-matey:

I got a qoute from the dealer as follows:

6CD changer (part no. 08601-00911) £305.95 incl vat plus 2hrs fitting (up here £90)

Seat mount kit (part no. 08695-00803) £72.96 incl vat

Total fitted £468 incl vat.

I am looking for an aftermarket interface as a CD player is about £180 and an MP3 player about £220 both including vat. The interfaces are about £80 including vat.

As the radio fitted in my XT4 is new I have so far not been able to find anyone supplying a compatible interface, but I am still looking.

Regarding fitting the Toyota CD player it is straight forward, plug and play, but you do have to remove the passenger front seat to fit the mounting brackets.

If anybody knows of a CD/MP3 interface for a Matsu****a head unit Model No. 86120-42130 ( No. of facia is 58812) please let me know.
