Got an interesting problem! I have a 1978 Toyota Long Bed Pickup! Love the thing and have had it since 78! The problem is that 5 speed Transmission! The thing just will not stay working and I'm always forced to go in there and rebuild it! I'm tired of rebuilding this old tranny and the parts are getting difficult to find anymore.

Wondering if there is another NEWER tranny that will fit a 20R Engine! If I can find a newer, better tranny that would resolve allot of the problems I'm having with this truck!

The rest of the truck is wonderful! This 20R Engine has 300K miles on it and you would never know it! I wonder how they managed to do that! Its like this engine doesn't ever wear out!
