Celica Import 4 Wheel Steer

I Have a Celica 2.0L GT 1994/5 Model IMPORT with 4 Wheel Steer and manual written in Japanese. I need to know what the two 'dashboards' switches control: '4WS' and 'SPORT' modes. Pressing the switches seems to have little effect albeit i dont drive this car very hard ie in a 'sporty' mode? Static operation with eng running and turning steering wheel, all 4 wheels are permanentl steering. Any advice on this subject would be appreciated. Cheers.
