Rear Bumpers Been Hit....

Hey, some boy racer went into me at a junction onto a main road because he was approaching too fast. Ironically i was even pulling away at the time thats how fast he was going! Anyway, luckily there was no cars coming for a a bit in each direction so i escaped unhurt although my passenger hurt his neck a bit just with the sheer impact.

Well i think the yaris survived relatively unhurt  , however i have been quoted 330quid by my local body shop to have the lower rear valance removed and replaced! Does anyone know where i could find one cheaper!!! I submitted a request to a load of salvage sites on-line but no luck. The car is a 2003 5 door model caribbean blue.

Any help would be most appreciated as any money i can save will go into my plans to lower the car.

Many Thanks

Richard :help:

Erm... did he not have insurance???? If somebody else has hit you... they should be paying, and if they don't... get them arrested. Crminal Damage.

How's your neck? Did you get some sort of whiplash injury?

It's not unusual to have pain from this sort of injury days after the impact.

If this is the case make sure you report it as an 'injury road traffic collision' to your local plod asap.

I agree, if someone goes into the back of you they are at fault - so get his insurance to pay for the damage!

Did you swap details?

Thats a bit dishonest of you

If the other party gave you £330 and that is all it is going to cost you I would settle for it.

Why should you make any profit from it.....you would not if you had claimed off the insurance.

Dont be so capatalistic

id have said £330 to get it fixed and £70 for the inconvinience of having to take it to toyota to get fixed, being without your car for a day and half a day taken off work...

call it £400 or lets ring the insurance company, see what they can do ;)

I was seriously surprised at how little is cost to get a new front bumper for my T-Sport ... might be worth finding out how much the part costs and then find out labour etc ...

yeah...

There is a Toyota yaris tsport at auto slavage in sheffield...

and its blue!!!

if you take your current bumper off, and put the new one on.. youll save 200 quid about and itd look damn better too!!

the bumpers are only held on by bolts so no fitting costs would occur and no painting (as its blue)
