<_< I need the help of all T Sport owners with 17/40/205 tyres or any body with non standard alloys do you know what pressure your tyres should? I know the psi readings are in the glove box but they only show the psi for the standard 15"{30psi front,29psi back}.My wheels have had 30psi all the way round and the difference is SHOCKING as i'm sure they must have had about 25psi in when it went for its first service and they put some more air in.The problem was it was torque steering, kick back though the steering and i felt EVERY bump on the road it fet like another car .Please, please shine some light on this problem its doing my head in.

30psi front,29psi back is correct.... but you can raise or reduce them by a couple of psi to suit your own driving style.

As for feeling every bump in the road.. thats because you have very little sidewall in your tyres to take the impacts and you are feeling the suspesion working... just as you would if you lowered the car and put on stiffer shocks... lowering the pressure to stop this won't work you will just damage the tyres by dropping the pressure too much. the larger the profile of the tyre the more the tyre will cushion the ride the less sidewall you have the more bumps you will feel.

Just avoid more potholes.. you don't see many "round" 17" wheels btw.. they all got little bumps and bashes on the inside of the rim this is because of all the bumps and no sidewall to cushion the blow unfortunately you will just have to live with that.

Any low profile tyre (even 45) you will get steering "issues" of sorts. Where you hit a pothole, or even something very small which you just happen to catch at the wrong angle and the steering will pull and it will feel like u ave no grip at all.

:) Thanks for all your help, i was seriously thinking of changing to 16"wheels as the whole handling and ride had gone totally out the window,i'm running lowwer pressure at the min as 30psi just is soooo bad to live with,i even though Toyota had bent some thing under the car as it was that bad, because when it went in it must have been 25psi than when it came out it had 30psi[JUST CHECK YOUR TYRES YOU WON'T BELIVE HOW MUCH 5PSI MAKE A DIFFERANCE}Thanks again.

But will the pressure depend on the car?

What's correct for a YTS may be different on another car with the same wheel/tyre set up...

Very wide after market wheel/tyre combinations will agravate steering feedback producing an effect called tramlining. I accept that as part of the upgrading. As to tyre pressures, I use 34 front and 32 rear on mine. 205/45 X 16 tyres
