Hi there,

Thanks all for all your previous help on 6x9's etc, i bought these 6x9's from motorworld link = , and now i want to connect these to the standard headunit on my 02 yaris t sport.

My question is will the headunit be able to power these Speakers, what wattage output are we looking at (4*40?).

Secondly is it as simple as hooking the wires to the Speakers, then hooking up to the back of the headunit?, sorry if this seems a stupid question!, im knew to ice installing!

Lastly! Do i just fit the cables under carpets etc, im confused how to access the back of the headunit, i have read the guides on the forum but i think there on about fitting after market head units.

One guy said on previous posts that the fad will be knackered up, im definetly wanting to fad more sound to the back ie my 6x9's

Any help would be great!

Probably more like 4x10wrms

pretty much yes

Lastly! Do i just fit the cables under carpets etc,

Best way i found for laying the cables was to remove the rear quarter panel and the small panel on the door sill and you'll see some clips there that already have cables in just run it with these

im confused how to access the back of the headunit, i have read the guides on the forum but i think there on about fitting after market head units.

You'll still need to follow the guide on removing the various dash parts to get to the back of the oem cd

Not sure on this one am sure someone that has done it will help

You need to look at the wrms of the Speakers not the max watt's

It will run them just not to there full potential

No, they will be loud! The standard toyota Speakers go loud (just very distorted!) Obviously, you won't be shaking the windows out, but your music should be better. Also, i'd advise against fading primarily to the rear of the car as this will cause an odd soundstage and you won't hear the full potential of the music!

If you can afford it, change the fronts asap as they will be restricting the volume you can apply as they will distort pretty quickly.

Sorry guys i sounding like a complete pain, im getting sliglty confused, after reading other people posts. Im unsure where to plug the wires in to the oe headunit.

Ive read i can get a special "loom" to allow my 6*9's to be connected to the oe headunit. Then i read i splice the wires that are already connected to the headunit from the front Speakers and connect those the wires coming from my 6*9's.

Lastly to access the headunit, i have to pull out my air filter in the dash?!?

On my OE headunit there were two plugs uin the back of it. Switch the unit on, remover one of the plugs. If the front Speakers go off, then you need to cut the wires on the other plug and connect them up with your 6*9 Speakers. Well that's what i did and works a treat! I'm not entirely sure if that's how it should have been done though! I have Pioneer TS-A6988 in the rear [speakers link], rated 300w max, 80w RMS. Headunit is 4*30 so they are slighty underpowered, and distort quite a bit when the volume is turned higher and higher, but the bass is impressive from them none the less! Read one of the how-tos regarding how to get at the headunit, easy stuff! Good luck!

Although I havent got it, I assume the loom just adds more wires to the speaker cable.

ie. you plug the loom in place of the speaker plug. The loom then has 2 plugs, one for your speaker plug and one for your extra Speakers.

So if you didnt want to splice the existing speaker wires you could buy the loom and splice the wires on that!

It'll have the same effect whichever you do..

Hope that helps!
