Yeah I had that problem. I went from the old **** lights to 55/100's cough cough. Not exactly road legal but on dipped they are the same as legal bulbs, just on main beam its like daylight WAHOO!

anyway the rubber seal on the back I had to pry off with 4 screwdrivers, once you've got it off it'll slide back on no problem - don't worry, but I used a bit of fairy liquid to reduce the friction coefficient a bit. You probably don't need the fairy liquid, I just used it cos i thought it would be a pain to get back on (which it wasn't)

hope this helps.

I've just changed my H4s and the rubber seal on mine came off easily enough, once it's off its just a case of unlatching the spring clip and lifting them out. I'm assuming starlet headlights are similar, which it sounds as if they are from your description.

On mine then, there's only one way the bulb will go into the slot, and then you just plug the wire back in and reattach the rubber cover.

eBay is good for bulbs aswell.

Captain Starlet, your car sounds great by the way. Any pictures?

Yeah the bulbs are easy to fit, just the rubber bit sits tight on it as it hasn't been removed for a long time. I just ripped it off with my hands lol, but the rubber didnt rip thank goodness.

Piece of cake ;)

Daz,

Have you ever hypothetically speaking melted the reflector on the back of the bulb? I was told that much over 100w and the reflector would warp. also the wiring and fuse system is good for 10A a side which I think is 100w (P=IV, -> I=P/V=100/12=8.333A)

have a nice day

Just need to keep a check when you first put them in  I've been selling these for years to people and very rare you have a problem

Normally you notice on the lens first if its plastic.
