Just been throwing out loads of old car mags when i noticed 1 mag did a GT4 special!?! They had about 12 chaps from the GT4OC all meet up at a rolling road and test the bleeders out!

Most of the cars were st185's, cople of 165's couple of 205's.. anyway, they were nearly all moded with unichips, induction kits, boost controllers etc..except a Carlos Sainz and 1 st185.

what do u all think the average BHP reading was for each model???? :(

well, most of the moded st185's had 180-85 bhp! how crap is that! the CS model was standard that was 227bhp! the st205's were 250 & 302bhp!!

The guys from GT4OC were all gutted!! :D

Most rolling road operators give u rear wheel horse power...... where as all manufacturers give flywheel horse power. just a thought......

.Hi,

I think I have that magazine. They were mostly just above standard. Some with unichip (dastek) ECU's, after market exhausts and induction kits. And most were just above standard bhp spec. The thing is having new chip sets are fairly pointless and the gains minimal unless you tune the rest of the care; larger interclooler up the psi and so on. Thats why the gains on N/A cars with chips are so limited, because there isn't alot you can do to the engine!

The carloz sainz version was the best standard. But they have better fueling than the standard GT4's. The rolling road center had there own GT4 which was pushing out 300bhp. Is that right?

Also I remember seeing something written about the octane content of our fuel in the UK. Something about it being of such low octane content that most cars even those running on super/optimax are only around 97/98 octane and in europe, the usa and asia they are getting 100 octane. This basically means are engines are going to have less bhp than those in other rich countries, because they're octane content is much higher and lets not forget cheaper

the garage did have there own GT4, that was the beast pumpin out 302bhp!!

yeah, it did mention the fuel thing, we will have to wait for Shell V-Power to hit the uk, that is 100 octane!

Looking through a couple of GT4 sites and they have some rolling road stats which are much more respectable! most cars are over 200bhp, with the moded ones being up to 280bhp, thats more like it :D

BHP figures are only good if it's stated where there measuring from though as Scot said earlier....

It is easy to give the higher of the two to make the car look more impressive on paper than it actually is.

100 octane fuel? When is that happening?????????????????????????????????????????????????????

That means i might be able to run at 12:1 comp ratio. JOY :D :D :D :D :D :D

It isn't definate that it is happening, Matt (Supracharged) was saying it has just been introduced on mainland europe.....

Would be great if we could have it over here :)

And all rolling roads seem to give different figures. Try your car on two different ones and you can see 10 - 20% variation.

some good points, but when people say how much bhp there car has, they always give the higher figure ;)

there are no two rolling roads that will read the same power for a given car as there are lots of factors that will change the results.... i belive its a 'pub chat' thing.....
