97 Camry Feul Lid Broken

Hi. guys. I would really appreciate if somebody help me out of here. Today was so cold it's like -8 (Minneapolis) with widchill -24 F. I stopped by a gas station and opened fuel lid using fuel lid lever on floor(driver side). It was not smooth and I felt something different. After I pumped the gas up, I couldn't close the lid. Whenever I try to close it, it pops up again. What do I have to do ? Do I have to replace something? Please, any help?
