1D2 is the color code for a "Thunder Grey" TS.

The plate I used as an example comes from a "Flame Gold" 1.0 Yaris. The layout of the plate is the same for all new Toyotas.

MY phase one thunder grey is ID2, but be warned Mr T does change the code from time to time ...

The codes themselves never get changed, if you use the 3-digit code you'll always get the same colour, but the names get changed often and vary according to region, for example here in Belgium "Thunder Grey" is called "Quick Silver", one of it's previous names was "Dark Grey Metallic".

But lets face it 'thunder grey' sounds cool ...

I actually meant that the real colour changes depending on which paint supplier is dealing with Mr T

I’m still confused; I still don’t know where I should be looking for the colour code! (Sorry, it’s my age!)

The colour code is the three digit-code in the blue rectangle on the bottom line of the VIN plate located on the right hand side in the engine compartment. Yours will read "1D2".

Ryan, yours is I think "209" but best check your VIN plate.
