Will 17" 8J's fit under the MR2's arches front and back without need for any modifications?

someone told me they will. (not sure how reliable that source is though)

Really like the alloys on your car stu, I am really torn between getting 17s or 16s.

On one hand I think 17s look good especially when lowered but I want to keep the standard suspension.

But when i see a car like yours with 16s on i think the look just right on the standard suspension but what annoys me is that there so little price difference between 17s and 16s so I'm not sure what to get for my 2.

Hope that made some sense, it's Friday afternoon and i'm trying to whittle away my last 16 minutes at work for the week.

My alloys are crap.

there more war torn than Iraq :(

17's are the limit for keeping the cars handeling though.

I'm currently running 17 x 7 front and 17 x 8 rears, and there's plenty of clearance.

You might find having 8j on the front reduces your turning circle a little, and definitely experience more tramlining...

I'm soon changing to 17 x 7 front and 18 x 8 rears...

Just got to get the tyres now...

16's mate.....can look mint with a decent set of lowering springs, and the ride doesn't suffer :)

I found 17" tyres more readily available and common and therefore cheaper that 16" tyres.

yeah but you've got coilovers right bud? so is it due to them that you can have the 8j???

I was also thinking about this...

A side note also... REV2+ mr2's were about an inch lower standard, so would the rev1's be able to handle larger rims on stock setup or not?

If I was was going to get 16"'s what tyre size would be best for the 2 and also what rim width would I need.

Thanks again
