Hi, I have a 1998 Avensis which will not start when the temp drops below 3degrees. Car fires and then after a few seconds engine dies. Will not fire the second or subsequent times. Garage (although usual local non-Toyota one, it has been referred to a Toyota centre) has basically given up as they cannot find anything wrong.

Have had the cold sensor changed and also the alarm immobiliser replaced (the Toyota diagnostics showed these as faulty). Works fine when temp above 3. Never had any problems with the car until about 6 weeks ago when this started. Car been in and out of garage since. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks.
