Carina Headlight Replacement Problem--help Please!

The passenger's side headlight on our 94 Carina has died; the owner's manual tells how to change the driver's side one but not the other. There is very little room by the Battery to get a hand down to try to remove the bulb, much less to unscrew the collar that holds the assembly in place. Is this a job only for a dealer, or is there a secret? I tried removing the batttery's bracket and shifting the Battery back a half inch or so, but still couldn't budge the collar.

I'm starting to think that the absence of instruction in the manual means I'm not supposed to do it, but I really don't want to have to pay thirty pounds for a professional mechanic.

Any wisdom would be most appreciated!

I managed to change the passenger side bulb without moving the Battery - it was so hard I popped a "moan" post on the site about it!

Anyway after much struggling (very hard not to touch the bulb) it is possible if you gently prise out all the bits an inch or so (including the rubber seal) and working the bulb around into its holder with one hand only.

If you have large hands I'd suggest taking the Battery completely out irst.
