3drs are available

a brand new i would have thought will cost you around 16k though

although they are nearly 3 years old and ive already seen one or two crop up on jap auctions for around 7k

so once its here youll be paying about 10k i would have thought???

try bonsai cars.com they may be able to help

Cheers

iv just seen a 5dr rst that went for 5g 2002 25k km which i thought was cheap cheap

i think they were abit cheaper than 16k jdm!

it worked out that they would have to be circa 15g if they sold em in the uk!

and i found brand new YTS(jdm) for £9,700

Any idea on insurance gp.?import insurers!

any info would be great!

thanks!

(any news on the 1.8 yaris i read rumers(sp?) of on here?)CB

well i think they are about 11,000 pounds for a Vitz RST

+Shipping (£500)

+SVA, plates etc (£500)

+Duty

+Vat

works out at £16,250

thats what you roughly pay for a spanking new RST

Chances are though that if he imports a second hand RS Turbo from Japan that it will already be partially modded, probably with engine mods. I know what the second hand Glanza V turbos are like when they get imported over here. So may end up saving a bit in the long run

im not after a spanker, one with anything upto 30-40k miles will do nicely!

figure i can afford around 7-8 k!so will have to go an find out whether i can get anything suitable!

wish me luck!

cars under 10 years old must be unmodded in order to pass the SVA test

over here anyway :)

i would rather it be stock as i imagine insurance(if i can get it) will be a pain in ***** as stock let alone additional mods!

would you imagine i would be able to find something around the 7-8 mark?

i know nothing of importing costs etc(other than prev. posts)

Thanks!

That's a damn shame cos you should see some of the stuff we get over here. Engines are so modified you can't even tell what parts were the originals. I was gonna buy a Glanza V Turbo instead of my Yaris, the one i found had so many HKS mods on it, it was insane! But it was too powerful to be me first car so i gave it a miss...plus it was a good 3500 CY pounds more expensive! :help::blink:

A Vitz RS Turbo for 7-8k? Doubt that one very much! Although it won't actually cos t you THAT much to buy the vehicle, your big problem is then shipping it over to UK, then customs etc etc etc hen it gets there. One of my mates bought a Subaru Impreza from Japan for 3,000 UK pounds. By the time he'd shipped it over, got it all checked over etc etc etc it was nearly 10,000 quid. It's better if you want to import one to go through an importer like jaxx mentioned before. You might also want to check Karma Import. They normally import Evo's, Impreza's, Civic & Integra Type R's but are well worth a shot! Importers will know ways to 'get around' customs a bit, and so car may become cheaper for you then. Also, by going through an importer, you'll save yourself a lot of hassle!

This is one of theclosest links i have found for the RS Turbo:

http://www.kanaji.com/vitz/vitz.htm

Note though that it is not entirely standard! Oh, and the site is in Japanese too  But at least there are some pics on there of what the RS Turbo engine is like! I used to have the link for the RS turbo on the Japanese Toyota site, but i've had to format my PC recently and i've lost it! :ffs: :censor:

It's just like the standard one in a Glanza V turbo. Think it must be a Toyota thing to put it on top of the engine...Doesn't make any sense does it?
