About the Celica RA28....... anyone got one, seen one, selling one, anything? Cos i'm desperately looking for one and any info about places to look, etc would be SOOOOO fantastic. Can you tell i've been frustrated so far?

Consider joining the Toyota Enthusiasts Club they are very into 70's Toyota's.

They do not have a website as yet but if you need an address I will get it for you.

RA28 'The baby mustang' most beautiful Celica ever

It certainly is. I mean, I am partial to a full on Mustang but I hardly think it's appropriate for a youngster like myself! Far too expensive and thirsty. One day maybe......

Till then i shall endeavour to find a blinking RA28. If you've got that address, that'd be great. Then I shall definately get in touch. And if you spot one....well, you know who's looking!

Cheers very much mate!

The address of the Toyota Enthusiasts club is:

Paul Adams,

11 St Georges Cresent,

Gravesend Kent,

DA12 4AR

Within the club there is a Celica 20/40 Register

Apart from the RA28 'Fastback/liftback' of around 1976 -77 Japan did do an earlier version around 1973 but this was for home market only.

See one here:

Thanks very much for that. I shall get in touch.

It really is a beautiful car, no matter which year it's made.

Are you a member of the club then? Cos if so, what's the club like? Or are you just a rather knowledgeable toyota fella?

Yes I am a member of the Toyota Enthusiasts Club (TEC), which has an emphassis on Toyotas over 10 Years old. I only joined last easter with my '89 Corolla GTi when I saw them at 'Weston park Festival of Transport' (I was in friends '58 Humber Hawk  ).

I find the club very helpful and very knowledgeable when it comes to 50's 60's & 70's Toyotas (Yes 50's and 60's ...you would be amazed what Toyota produced although very few examples exist in this country); the 70's vehicles they are very geared towards.

Last year we attended a show that was organised by the Datsun owners club, who very kindly asked other Japanese car clubs to attend (Proviso being that cars had to be Pre '91). It was held at R.A.F Cosford in Shropshire, my avatar is from that day and the car parked next to me was a 1967 Datsun Fairlady...an almost copy of the British MGB, I liked it.

I find the club very helpful (and not 'big bucks' or 'concours bonkers' like some other car clubs).

No Sir, I am not that knowledgable in the world of Toyota, it's just that what little knowledge i've gained is thanks to this forum (as well as the TEC).

Now there's a lovely looker! and I must say that that's made the wait a lot easier whilst trying to find one! Hehe!

Cheers for the contact though mate! So is he known for restoring them for himself? Or does he do them for other people?

Glad I posted on this site, the ppl here are much more helpful than on other forums.
