Weight Loss Making Me Worry

I used to be 14 stone when i was a kid, then i hit teenager years and i pretty much averaged out at 12 stone and i was really fit. I have been rather unwell this year, and in the last few months my weight has plummeted and im worried. Im only 9 stone now, ive lost about three stone in a few months, i feel so thin and i get very cold at night.

Im 25 and 5ft 10 male , is my weight too low? ive tried to eat more but my hernia plays up :crybaby:

Can you eat earlier in the day so not to upset the problem in the evening?

I ‘eat’ (drink) a lot of protein drinks which I get from my gym, it’s easier than eating proper food, instead of eating a steak, I drink the equivalent of one, 2 to 3 times a day.

This is useful at night so not to get any reflux when I go to bed.

Maybe a meal replacement shake may help, you will get the nutrients and calories you need without the problems of eating proper food while your condition is the way it is.

I take it you have a high metabolism at well?.. Whenever I'm ill, I can lose half a stone in a week..

I use Reflex - Instant Mass to help pile the weight back on, 2 shakes a day, 30g of Protein and 50g of Carbs in each shake..

he might not have the strength to digest a weight gain product... i know i dont as it weakens me forcing masses of protein or carb down me! And i shud imagine it will cause him more distress because high levels of acid will be produced to digest them

On an average day what do you eat/drink?

do you smoke?

go to the doctors for his/her opinion m8

at 9 stone and 5'10 you're not dangerously underweight...

but if you're losing weight that fast you definately need to get something sorted.

if there's anyway to get your operation moved forward (private?) then you should get the treatment as soon as you can, your health is more important than anything else...

hope you get it sorted dude, it's not nice to see people suffering - i don't even know you and i feel for you :(

Got the same problem myself, hospital appointment 7th of Feb to find out whats going on. Been on medication for six months now. Lost 2 stone in 3 months.

Just hope they can sort it out as my clothes are hanging off me and don't want to buy anymore incase i manage to put the weight back on. Have days when i can eat loads then have two days after when cant eat anthing.

Hope you get it sorted soon as it is not nice.

18 Months ago I was nearly 15 stone, now down to about 10.5, i'm 6.1ft - doing a bit more manual work that i used to but I didn't diet to lose the weight, and 4.5 stone sounds a lot to me.

Personally i think its the shock of being so ill suddenly , and avoiding alot of the high fat foods ive had major depression last year and lost a few family members. I stopped eating cakes , avoided alot of fatty foods and drink goats milk which is has hardly any fat. I used to eat like 4 pieces of toast for lunch lots of cakes , Massive dinners full of chips and other items.

Thanks for the replies guys, i think ill wait till i get my acid levels sorted because atm that is the biggest pain

go the doctors.

make an appointment now.

not trying to scare you - but I can think of one good cause for such sudden weight loss, and its not good.

get yourself to the quacks - soon as.

doctors are a waste of space. im sure at least one person on this forum will agree with me

Most are especially the asians and the pa.... Spend 30mins just trying to understand what they are on about, but i got hospital on thursday lets see what happens with that.

doctors already know about my weight loss, so going to the docs again will do nothing at this time

oh well it's your call.

If the Docs know and they think nothing off it, then I wouldnt worry to much.

Just eat a few Steaks then you'll put some weight back on. :D
