can anyone help,, i am after a mk3 pick up, as that is all my budget will allow, it will be used mainly as a second motor, 50% of the time picking up materials 50% as a car, all i know is that i want a single cab 4x4,

is there a prefered year

peterol or diesel

what year did the turbo come in

is it worth the extra for a mk4

can the diesel engine be tweaked easily

are there any good publications for these motors

what is the mpg

what is the insurance group etc etc

any OTHER good web sites

any information you have on these motors would be of great help

Hi

I have just bought a 1994 Hilux and it has the 2.4 diesel engine in. From it I can get from around 25 to 30 mpg. At this age it is the mk 3 and is normally aspirated as the turbo came in at 1998.

Even if your budget was limitless I would still recommend this model to anyone. This is one of the most well built cars I have ever come across and hope to keep it for many years to come!

Hope some of this information can be of help to you
