Bummer.

Are there any preventative measures to stop this occuring?

I assume I should have my VVTL-i checked and if they are rusted to have them sorted!!!!

You could get the rust off them then paint them with hammerite, or if your celica is under warranty just goto your local dealer and they will be replaced foc, plus on the back they put the new revised discs with the black hubs

Depending on how old the car is you maybe able to get replacements from Mr T, I( know on the Lexi the warranty was extended to 3 years for alloys as they had a spate of problems with the alloys corroding...

<_< Had my hubs replaced foc. The rear ones were replaced with the new black ones which showed signs of rust within 6 weeks so i painted all four with hammerite smooth silver! six months on and still no rust!!! Would get em painted before they replace them!!
