St205 Warning Light

Hi,

My friend has a 1997 ST205 import and the orange engine warning light in the dash is stopping on.

What does it mean?

You got a fault code from ecu mate

try this link http://www.st205.net/frameset.htm look in tech info then down to ecu error codes, tells you what to do to read the code and give you a general idea of whats wrong. Could just be something simple like ic level low.

I want to check the spark plugs in my ST205 asap, am I right in saying that I will need to drain off the coolant from my intercooler first?

Proberbly but not sure as local garage did all mine on 1st major serv,any other peeps out there know ,but it prob wouldnt hurt to change coolent anyway.

it can be done by sliding it over to the left , then over to the right to do the other two,guys on gt40c say to take the chargecooler off and clean the inlet and outlet pipes with petrol or gunk as 1 of them gets clogged with dirty oil particles and stops it breathing losing you some bhp.
