would 225-45 tyres on 17" rims be acceptable with miminal amount of rubbing with a standard sus on a 2001 corolla sr? is the offset needed 40mm? and if alloys are less than this ( i have been told they should fit) can you fit spacers to sort the rubbing out?

Thanks.

sorry for me remedialness.

You can try this one as well. Gives you the differences in diameter, circumference, speedo error etc. Enter the standard wheel/tyre combination in the 1st column and your choice of new tyre/wheel combination in the 2nd column. Press submit and you`ll have all the info you need.Tyre size calculator

As for fitting spacers. Beware. You dont want to go more than about 5mm without getting longer studs fitted. You`ll be running out of thread.

ive head that people with 205/40/17 tyres rub on full lock, i was just wondering how bad 225/45/17's would be?

thanks for anyone who can help me

I have 205/40/17 42mm offset alloys on my SR. Standard suspension at the mo, it rubs a little but ONLY on FULL lock!

Watch what you are doing with spacers as you need enough thread on the wheel bolts to secure the wheel properly!
