at the recent meet i noticed sxb's GT4 celica had humongous 4pot calipers up front, standard issue

as opposed to the IMHO kinda poxy 2 pot sliding calipers on the mister 2

so... whould it be possible to transfer a set of celica calipers to the 2???

it maybe is with alot of modification - gt4 hubs , discs and maybe struts

thats what i was thinking

different hubs with the 4wd?? therefore not a 'mounting bracket' job??

maybe, maybe not!

splines for the drive shafts in the hubs maybe different also.

Thats a definate!!! The 2 is rear drive only so no drive shaft splines in the hub.

Plus aren't the rear disks bigger than the front on the 2 so the bias valve may need changing too.

Weeeeellll....If you had a MKI the calipers would pretty much just bolt on as the mounts are the same. Don't simply assume it's an impossible task just 'cos no-ones done it yet. Check this thread about MKIs on IMOC and maybe the guy who is doing the conversion could give you a little more info.

ST185/205 caliper conversion

I doubt you'd need to change the hubs at all, the disc isn't part of the hub. You may need to have some ST185/205 discs welded up and redrilled. But then again the calipers could be compatible with your own discs.

i doubt gt4 pads will fit the mr2 discs , seeing as the mr2 turbo discs are 275 x 30 mm , and the gt4 are 315 x 32 mm , you would also need to fit 7.5 wheels

I know the GT4 and Supra pads are the same ..

Try Supra brakes .. you'll need 17's though ..
