Just wondering if your allowed to have a passenger when you go down the 1/4?

or is it strictly driver only?, and do u need to wear a helmet if your car is expected to reach over 100mph? ( im sure ive read that sumwhere)

Hiya,

No passengers are allowed in the vehicle whilst you do your run. As for wearing a crash helmet, I didn't see anyone who took a car down wearing one so I don't think it's a requirement unless you're in an open top / on a bike or scooter.

Yep.

Most people play dumb and say "ah it ain't that fast"

Although if things go wrong at 100mph+, you'll wish you were wearing a helmet.

It should be like that up here at Crail but you still get mum, dad and 3 kids in the back of a Rover 214 going down the 1/4 mile! :lol::lol:

Surely if you are running the 1/4, you would not want the extra weight of a passenger???

On the back of the timing slips it says vehicles over 100 require a helmet :rolleyes:

I saw no one wearing one, unless they were open to the elements!

its a god job its not the states then..over there the faster your car goes the more saftey you have to have built in to the car such as fire extingishers, rol cages and all sorts...
