Rear Speakers In Phase 2 Yaris

Any of you had any trouble getting rear Speakers fitted in the phase 2 Yaris? I have a Yaris Blue and found that the parcel shelf is significantly smaller than on for example, the phase 1 Yaris such as the SR, CDX, GS. This makes it quite difficult to get 6x9's fitted properly.

I've had no problem, and I've got 4 Speakers,

make your own parcel shelf from some MDF.

You should be able to fit at least 6 in, but it would be really tight, I've only got 4 as 6 would be to many, and I had 4 in my previous car, so I thought I would stick them in the Yaris instead of leaving them lying around doing nothing.

Nothing wrong with a phase 2, except I keep getting the ***** taken out of me about my standard indicator covers as they stand out further than the wing mirrors.

Without a phase 1 to try the parcel shelf in or on, I couldn't tell you .

I bought my Yaris in November. Would that be a phase 2 then?

Beats me why they don't have rear Speakers in the first place.

Yup .. you have a phase 2 as you have a T-Spirit. The names changed when they face-lifted the Yaris, apart from the T-Sport still being called the T-Sport though. :)

No idea why they'd have a smaller rear shelf, cos wont that leave a gap between the shelf and the rear seats even when the seats are put all the way back to maximise leg room??

I know the rear shelf is just right in the SR when the rear seats are put all the way back, just strange why they would make it any smaller.

The Phase 1/2 thing doesn't seem to matter, just where the car was made... I had a japanese phase 2 with a significantly different rear shelf to the french made phase 2 I have now.

For further details on some of the differences see other threads ad nauseam! ;)
