Headlights

Hi there. I have a 1990 Toyota Corolla Sedan. I am curious if the lights should be on all the time even with my light switch off ( but the car on of course ) or if the daytime lights are supposed to be dimmer, cause at night if I turn on my lights they stay the same brightness as the lights with the switch off. I have replaced all the lightbulbs. Thanks

I don't know what part of the world you live in.

In Britain we have Off, Side and On (3 positions) if the switch is off but the car running there should be no lights on at all.

If the car is stationary and not runing/ignition off and you turn the switch to side lights only then just the side lights will come on however on some Corollas (of around 1987 -92 )when you have the car running then a dimlight will also appear from the headlight.

As said originally different countries have different requirements.

Happy motoring

Hey there,

yeah thats what I was hoping my car would do but basicallly my headlights are on even with the light switch set to off during the day. I was hoping when the switch is off during the day that maybe it might have some dimmer running lights but it doesn't seem to. Just seeing if anybody knows, so maybe I need to get it fixed. Thanks
