Found this on the sister forum (lexusownerssclub.co.uk) for the Lexus RX300 and Toyota Avensis and it appears to work for European 2004-2005 RAV4's and probably most 2004-2005 Toyota/Lexus vehicles.

1) Turn the Power ON

2) Set trip meter to "ODO"

3) Power OFF

4) Turn the Power ON

5) Hold down the ODO/Trip button for 10 seconds

6) While keeping the ODO/Trip button down, put the driver seatbelt on.

7) You will see b_on / b_off choice in the ODO meter, make your choice with the ODO/Trip button

You will still get the dashboard and passengers seatbelt flashing lights if you don't put your seatbelt on.

Final note please use your seatbelts otherwise.

Will try it next week when I pick mine up - thanks.

Anyone know the one to activate the auto door locking feature - read somewhere that there is a similar set-up to get the doors to lock when you turn the ignition on ...

I was wondering about the door locking too - did the bleeper disable last night (thanks for the 1st post SRC) and it's much better not having the damn thing bleep at you as you drive around Tesco car park at 5 mph. Maybe the locking thing is the same, but instead of plugging the seatbelt in (step 6) you lock the door instead? Anyone tried it yet?

Ha - what is it about Lexus (ex-Lexus ?) drivers and mods !! :P

Also need some advice on the other mods folks have done - Sat Nav / Speakers / interior mirrors / rear door stays etc.

Got to fit my Origin B2 next week (I get my RAV on Monday - yippee) - how do the silver dash side pods come off ?

Oh and waiting to see if my triple jet washers will fit the RAV bonnet holes ...

How sad is that !

Andy.

The side pods just pull off - it's best to use your fingers / finger nails to get the bottom off first - that way you don't damage the plastic at all (which you could with a screw driver). There are only 2 push in clips on each piece so they come off pretty easily.

If you're fitting a sat nav to a new(ish) vehicle then all the plugs are there so it will just plug in - a great mod for about 450 quid.

I agree with mooranger - fantastic mod, save ££££s on purchasing it as an option from Mr T!!!! And so simple to fit - even I managed it.....eventually ;-)

As for modding.....well tints are nice (Very pleased with mine), rear door mod is handy.....TTE Exhaust is fun - like the sound its gives  !!!!! I'll be interested to see how you get on with the triple washer - I quite fancy the "FAN STYLE WASHER", but have not found anywhere that sells them yet - and of course do not know if they fit!

Getting a 5dr Granite in Silver on Monday - ex demo car from Southampton.

Will try my washers and let you know - if the triple fit then the fan type will too - I have a source for the fan type so can get a price if they fit ...

Been looking at Sat Nav's on E.Bay - guess that is your source - just didn't want to commit before getting car.

Must join up here officially next week - keep forgetting ...
