Part Search For Ra28 (18r Engine)

[Desperately Seeking RA28]

Recently I changed the points in my RA28 ('Duke) and also the fan belt. When I went to adjust the timing the vacuum adjuster didn't work!!!!

I've been advised to try and source the whole distributor (i.e. points, adjuster etc)

Can anyone advise where I should look for this? My normal sources are unable to get this!

Poor Duke (My daily runner) is now off the road......and I miss him!

Have you tried your local Toyota dealer? You might be supprised what is still available. I do realise that it also depends how helpful the parts department is.

In the Toyota Enthusiasts Club there is a chap with a 1967 Corona and he still gets parts from his local Toyota dealer.

The last set of points I bought for mine were Lucas I think, just from an average motor factors. Some of the do ADL Blueprint parts which are good for japanese cars.

You can still get lots of mechanical parts from the dealers. Last time I tried the computer can't search for RA28s from the diagram but it can find the parts from a part number. If they still have the old microfische machine then its easier. Looking for other vehicles with 18R engine can help too. The RA40, Cressida and some Hiaces I think and virtually the same. (unless you're lucky enough to have a 18RG? )
