I posted an idling problem earlier in December. Haven't had any luck with checking engine codes and the Toyota dealership replaced the idle control valve in the throttle body.

The problem is still there. The problem is that when it is cold out (under 0 degrees celcius) the car idles @ 1700 rpm then when the car warms up the rpm starts to jump up and down b/w 1000 & 1700 about every other second. But when it is above 0 degrees celcius the car purrs at 750 rpm. When it is cold, and the foot is on the gas the car is fine, but if I take the foot off the gas, the rpm starts jumping up and down every other second at 40km, but if I put the foot on the gas again there is no problem.

So, I have taken the car back to the repair shop but it was warm that day and they couldn't find a problem. Apparently the car doesn't have a temperature sensor. So I need to know if anybody has heard of this problem?? :help:

i don't know who told you that, but all paseos have IAT's or Intake Air Temperature sensors. they know what degree air is coming in, and if it only does it below zero, it's working fine, because it's recognising the code. I'm guessing a computer issue, which is beyond my area of expertise for now. :!Removed!: sorry m8

Thanks for your info. The dealership mechanic told me that there was no temperature sensor for '92 Paseo. Sounds like they are wrong there!

They want me to leave it overnight so that when it is cold in the morning they will be able to drive it and work with the car when the problem is happening. It's just a pain not having a car for a couple of days.... again. But before I drive out there again, I'll call him about IAT sensor and the possibility of computer problems with the codes.

Thanks again :)
